I am delighted to welcome the news that the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs has announced details of the allocation of €1 million to support the development of new youth cafés.
Details of the scheme are available on the Department of Children and Youth Affairs website at

I am glad to see the Government taking the provision of facilities to young people seriously, and note that over €700,000 has been provided for youth cafe developments since we took Government. This figure will now bring that to €1.7m – a substantial investment.
I would hope to see local organisations using this money to effectively provide youth cafés across Dublin.
