This week is an historic week in the Seanad given that we are debating the very existence of our chamber and what will be a profound change to our Constitution. We also debated the Employment Equality Act 1998 (Section 12) (Church of Ireland College of Education) Order 2013, the Electricity Regulation Act 1999 (Restricted Electrical Works) Regulations 2013. We also debated the Social Welfare and Pensions (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2013 as well as the Health (Amendment) Bill 2013
As mentioned, we also debated the Thirty Second Amendment of the Constitution (Abolition of Seanad Éireann) Bill 2013 and the Motion Re Transparency & Lobbying: Minster for Expenditure & Public Reform. As well as that, we debated the Housing (Amendment) Bill 2013 – and the Public Service Management (Recruitment and Appointments) (Amendment) Bill 2013 as well as the Courts Bill 2013 – Committee Stage
In addition, we had the report stage of the Social Welfare and Pensions (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2013 and the Central Bank (Supervision and Enforcement) Bill 2013.
