Senate Update

Time To See Sense And Remove Cents – This week I called on Minister Noonan to consider the results of a Wexford trial which removed one and two cent coins from circulation. The trial was met with approval by 85% of consumers and 100% of local businesses in the area. Ireland has to mint three times the EU average of one and two cent coins, and it’s clear that this is unsustainable – http://catherinenoone.ie/2015/06/04/time-to-see-sense-and-scrap-cents-noone/

Dublin West Newsletter – This week, as the Seanad isn’t sitting, I set to work on producing and distributing a newsletter for residents of Dublin West to keep them informed of local issues in the area. You can have a look here – http://catherinenoone.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/CN.pdf

“Serious Crackdown Needed” On Antisocial Behaviour – Senator Catherine Noone has today said that a “serious crackdown” in antisocial behavior is needed, after reports of antisocial behaviour near a school in recent weeks concluded with the disgraceful burning down of a prefab school unit at Castleknock Community College, near Blanchardstown, on Sunday night. http://catherinenoone.ie/2015/06/04/antisocial-behaviour-crackdown-needed/
