Halt Clonshaugh Sewage Plant

I have called for a halt to a planned sewage treatment plant in Clonshaugh.

The proposed plant has caused significant concern in the area due to a number of important factors that should be addressed before the development progresses.

The plant will serve areas from Kildare and Meath, but will be built in the heavily populated area of Clonshaugh. The location proposed for the plant has the potential to be used for a host of other amenities, not least, housing for the rapidly growing local population.

The chosen site has also raised significant concerns as to potential environmental damage. The plant will drain waste water off near Baldoyle, home to nature reserves. This will also require burrowing under the Baldoyle Estuary posing further risks.

It is my belief that this is not the appropriate way to proceed and I am therefore submitting an objection to the proposed sewage treatment plant. It is my hope that a more environmentally friendly solution will be found and that the concerns of local residents will be properly addressed.
