Taoiseach Visits Dublin Bay North

An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar toured Dublin Bay North on Saturday, December 1st.

I along with, Minister Bruton and the Taoiseach visited Howth Harbour to discuss the issues facing the fishing community and heard much technical information regarding the urgent need for the harbour to be dredged, which has not been done since 1982. The Taoiseach met fishermen in the harbour and young competitive sailors at Howth Yacht Club.

The delegation also visited Raheny GAA club, and met with local GAA players and staff and volunteers. A Taoiseach hadn’t visited the club since the 80s and there was a great buzz in the club.

It was great that the Taoiseach could find time to visit Dublin Bay North, despite his very busy schedule. This gave us the opportunity to demonstrate the issues affecting our constituency. Nothing beats hearing about the issues affecting the community from people in the community.
